Robert J. Telfer III
Robert J. Telfer III practices in the areas of complex civil litigation and appeals.
He is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, the United States District
Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States Court
of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Telfer received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Stetson University
College of Law in 1997, and his Bachelor''s Degree in Political Science from Northwestern
University in 1994. Mr. Telfer was a member of the Stetson Law Review from 1995-1997.
From 1998 to 1999, he served as a Law Clerk for Chief Judge Joseph Hatchett of the
United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Thereafter, he was a commercial
litigation associate for the West Palm Beach office of Steel, Hector & Davis LLP,
and a litigation and appellate associate for the Tallahassee office of Akerman Sernterfitt.
In 2002, Mr. Telfer was appointed to the Federal Court Practice Commitee of The
Florida Bar, and in 2003, he was appointed Vice Chair of the Committee. In 2003,
Mr. Telfer co-authored, with Judge Joseph Hatchett, the article "The Importance
of Appellate Oral Argument," which appeard in 33 Stetson Law Review 139 (Fall 2003).
Mr. Telfer is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association,
Tallahassee Bar Association and The Florida Bar''s Appellate and Trial Lawyers Sections.
He is also a member of the Volunteer Advisory Board for WorldClass Schools of Leon
County.
